What is The Weekly Polemic?

Let’s be honest: the modern media circus is a bit of a dumpster fire choreographed by people who think objectivity is a relic of a bygone era. We’ve all felt that peculiar sense of intellectual vertigo, watching the legacy media exchange clarity for comfort and nuance for a narrative that feels suspiciously like a script.

If you’ve found yourself shouting at your screen because the ‘sanctioned’ version of the truth feels like it’s missing a soul (and a few key facts), welcome home. You’re among friends. Or at least, among people who won’t call the manager because you had an unfashionable thought.

A Sanctuary for the Politically Homeless

The Weekly Polemic is our attempt to reclaim the lost art of the argument. We aren’t here to validate your priors or offer a warm blanket of partisan cheerleading. We’re here to poke the bear.

We operate on a few radical, old-school principles:

  • Objectivity isn’t a myth: It’s a discipline.

  • Stoicism is a superpower: In an era of performative hysteria, keeping your head is the ultimate act of rebellion.

  • Dissent is delightful: We believe free speech is most vital when it’s protecting the opinions that make your teeth itch.

Not a Safe Space (In the Best Way Possible)

We’ll be blunt: if you’re looking for a curated ‘safe space’ where your sensibilities are shielded from the ‘wrong’ ideas, you’re going to be terribly disappointed here. We believe that the right to interrogate and provoke is the only thing standing between us and a very dull, very bossy conformity. We don’t do sanitised. We do incisive.

A note on pledges: You don’t have to pay to be part of the conversation—the excellent content is on the house for now. However, if you do choose to pledge, you’re essentially buying us the time (and the coffee) needed to keep this project growing.

Either way, we’re just glad you’re here. Put your feet up, sharpen your wits, and welcome to the debate.
